Questions:<\/h2>\n<ol>\n<li>Did you ever compare others or get compared?<\/li>\n<li>What do you feel?<\/li>\n<li>What do you think about comparing and being compared?<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><em>Intact with kids and collect their answers!<\/em><\/p>\n<h2>2.1 Compare Example #1: Saul &amp; David<\/h2>\n<p>1Samuel 18: 15Whatever mission Saul sent him on, David was so successful that Saul gave him a high rank in the army. This <b>pleased <\/b>all the troops, and Saul\u2019s officers as well.\u00a06When the men were returning home after David had killed the Philistine, the women came out from all the towns of Israel to meet King Saul with singing and dancing, with joyful songs and with timbrels and lyres.\u00a07As they danced, they sang:<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">\u201cSaul has slain his thousands,\u00a0and David his tens of thousands.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<h3>Saul\u2019s Growing Jealousy of David<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/ganaijachic.files.wordpress.com\/2012\/10\/saul_dav.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1131\" height=\"757\" \/><\/h3>\n<p>8Saul was very <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">angry<\/span>; this refrain <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">displeased<\/span> him greatly. \u201cThey have credited David with tens of thousands,\u201d he thought, \u201cbut me with only thousands. What more can he get but the kingdom?\u201d 9And from that time on Saul kept a close eye on David.\u00a0<span class=\"verse v10\" data-usfm=\"1SA.18.10\"><span class=\"label\">10<\/span><span class=\"content\">The next day an <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">evil\u00a0<\/span><\/span><span class=\"content\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">spirit<\/span> from God came forcefully on Saul. He was prophesying in his house, while David was playing the lyre, as he usually did. Saul had a spear in his hand <\/span><\/span><span class=\"verse v11\" data-usfm=\"1SA.18.11\"><span class=\"label\">11<\/span><span class=\"content\">and he hurled it, saying to himself, \u201c<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">I\u2019ll pin David to the wall<\/span>.\u201d But David eluded him twice.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<h3>Key Points:<\/h3>\n<ol>\n<li><strong>\u201cComparison is the thief of joy.\u201d \u00a0<\/strong>always be careful when comparing others or being compared. It could affect other&#8217;s feeling a lot!<\/li>\n<li><strong>Don\u2019t feel jealous and take bad action when being compared!<\/strong> It is always a bad thing to take jealousy action when being compared!<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h2>2.2 Compare Example #2 :\u00a0John Baptist &amp; Jesus<\/h2>\n<p>John3 22After this, Jesus and his disciples went out into the Judean countryside, where he spent some time with them, and baptized. 23Now John also was baptizing at Aenon near Salim, because there was plenty of water, and people were coming and being baptized. 24(This was before John was put in prison.) 25An argument developed between some of John\u2019s disciples and a certain Jew over the matter of ceremonial washing.\u00a026They came to John and said to him, \u201cRabbi, that man who was with you on the other side of the Jordan\u2014the one you testified about\u2014<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">look, he is baptizing, and everyone is going to him<\/span>.\u201d<\/p>\n<h3>John Baptist\u2019s Response<\/h3>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/activerain.com\/image_store\/uploads\/5\/6\/8\/5\/1\/ar135916388715865.png\" alt=\"\" \/><br \/>\n27To this John replied, \u201c<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">A person can receive only what is given them from heaven.<\/span> 28You yourselves can testify that I said, \u2018I am not the Messiah but am sent ahead of him.\u2019 29The bride belongs to the bridegroom. The friend who attends the bridegroom waits and listens for him, and is full of joy when he hears the bridegroom\u2019s voice. That joy is mine, and it is now complete. 30<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">He must become greater; I must become less<\/span>.\u201d<\/p>\n<h3>Key Points:<\/h3>\n<ol>\n<li><strong>Viewing the comparison from God\u2019s point of view.<\/strong> God create everyone with unique purpose! Praise God for giving people different gift other than you since God may use him differently.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Pleasing God instead!<\/strong> \u00a0King Saul wants to kill David so he will be the only people be praised, but John baptist think from God&#8217;s point of view, he need please God instead himself, so he say differently and act differently.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h2>2.3 Compare Example #3: \u00a0Jesus\u2019 teaching in comparison between Peter and John<\/h2>\n<p>John21: 20Peter turned and saw that the disciple whom Jesus loved was followin<a href=\"http:\/\/www.hoc6.org\/global\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/whatabouthim.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-3663\" src=\"http:\/\/www.hoc6.org\/global\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/whatabouthim-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"whatabouthim\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.hoc6.org\/global\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/whatabouthim-300x225.jpg 300w, http:\/\/www.hoc6.org\/global\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/whatabouthim-326x245.jpg 326w, http:\/\/www.hoc6.org\/global\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/whatabouthim-80x60.jpg 80w, http:\/\/www.hoc6.org\/global\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/whatabouthim.jpg 640w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a>g them. (This was the one who had leaned back against Jesus at the supper and had said, \u201cLord, who is going to betray you?\u201d) 21When Peter saw him, he asked, \u201c<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Lord, what about him<\/span>?\u201d\u00a022Jesus answered, \u201cIf I want him to remain alive until I return, what is that to you? <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">You must follow me<\/span>.\u201d<\/p>\n<h3>Key Points:<\/h3>\n<p>Jesus: Mind your own business! Follow me!<\/p>\n<h2>3: Summary about compare: \u00a0Look, Think, Act<\/h2>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/encrypted-tbn1.gstatic.com\/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcR9OmTE62EwChxZyGScVeSwYF62yiIQsr1dUlq1S-gyxGXsvNZhSiHTges\" alt=\"\" width=\"108\" height=\"98\" \/>We cannot stop others from comparing us in real worlds, we just need learn the comparison stories from Bible and take the following 3 principles carefully:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Look:<\/span> <strong>View from God\u2019s point of view!<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Think<\/span>: <strong>Please God not the people!<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Act<\/span>: <strong>Follow Jesus<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h3>Encouraging words for Kids:<\/h3>\n<ol>\n<li><strong>Be grateful. Be thankful.
