Ephesians 6:10-13: “ Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand.”
The first thing, about our enemies, the Bible clearly tells us that our enemies are the devil and his jackals. They are very crafty and sneaky and they are not human beings like us having flesh and blood, instead, they are spiritual beings. We are fighting against the rulers controlling the dark world, and the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places! Though we don’t see them, but their outcomes, their foot steps are almost everywhere as we can see violence, bullies, pornography, cheating, temptations everywhere. We believe that behind them, is the devil.
The Bible told us our enemy, the devil is like a roaring lion. He prowls around looking for someone to swallow up. In the mean time the devil and its jackals may make up themselves to be good guys, to be angels of light. Many times, we don’t know where they are, and who they are. That is the reason we have to put on the full armor of God all the time to protect ourselves from getting shot by the devil from nowhere. Nevertheless, boys and girls, the Bible told us “Be strong in the Lord and in His mighty power.” Our God is omnipotent, as long as we stay in our Lord Jesus, we don’t need to be afraid or to panic. He gave us a very powerful equipment – a full armor to protect us from any evil attack.
The full armor of God consists of 6 parts. See the picture: 1. the Belt of truth – buckled around our waist; 2. the Breastplate of righteousness – it protects our heart; 3. the Boots of the gospel of peace – we put it on our feet so that we will not trip off and fall. 4. Shield of faith – protect us from the devil’s flaming arrows of all kinds of schemes. 5. Helmet of salvation – the salvation of God is like a helmet to protect our head. 6. the sword of the Spirit – this is also the word of God. This is the weapon we use to fight against the Satan. The word of God is so powerful and important that we want to keep His word as many as we can.
After we put on the full armor God gave us, we still need one important thing – we need good connection with our Lord Jesus, who is our ultimate Commander-in-chief. How do we get connected with our Lord Jesus? Yeah! Pray! Through prayer we have close connection with our Lord so that He can watch over us and guide us. Remember Satan is not visible with our eyes, however, the Lord can see him, and He will let us know where Satan with his followers is and help us be safe from Satan’s attack.
